I’m Lucie, a creative communications professional with several years’ experience and a desire to keep learning and never stand still. When I was at school I had ambitions to be a journalist. Not just because attending sports matches or school plays as school correspondent for the local paper got me out of lessons but because I had a genuine passion for writing. After training, I worked as a trade journalist for a few years before moving into corporate public relations which I’ve done ever since: working in a range of environments and sectors, in-house, agency and now freelance.
Public relations has evolved and changed in the 20 years that I’ve been doing it, and I’ve always done my best to keep ahead of those changes. I’m inquisitive and curious and my desire to keep learning has served me well as I’ve had proven success in pretty much every element of corporate communication, including media relations, strategic communication management, digital communication, marketing communications, internal communication, social media management, publication production, event management, and crisis avoidance and mitigation.
I’m still a talented writer and promoting the power of words is still my favourite thing to do. I write clear, concise and creative copy for all kinds of media and audiences: marketing content, press releases, promotional material, editorials, website copy, social media posts and blogs. And I’m a pretty good speech writer too.
I live and work in Hertfordshire and my portfolio includes work for local businesses and organisations, as well as companies in other parts of the UK and in Europe.
On top of all this experience, I’ve got paperwork.I’m a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, a Chartered PR practitioner, and I have a Masters in Strategic Communication. Still learning after all these years.
